MATT KENEVAN “The Beer Dabbler”

Matt is “the” Beer Dabbler. His entrepreneurial spirit and quest for making people happy brings beer to dabblers all over the map. Matt comes from Wisconsin where they are no strangers to beer. The idea of the Beer Dabbler was dreamt up in 2008 when Matt decided he wanted to serve as a catalyst to the craft beer discovery. Matt has very little free time though somehow he manages to squeeze in hunting, bocce ball, softball, non-profit organization board meetings, gardening, landscaping, wood-working, and time spent with his many friends, wife, son, and of course a dog named Porter.

JOE ALTON “the Brains”

Raised by wolves on the streets of the STP, Joe brings his love of great craft brew and experience in event management to The Beer Dabbler. Joe has been Matt’s right-hand man since the Dabbler’s early days. His professional background is in hospitality and restaurant management. A few of the roles in Joe’s Beer Dabbler province are consulting, quality control, environmental impact and event management. When not in beer, he dabbles in canoeing, camping, biking, fishing, hiking, live local music, traveling, food, and photography. Joe currently lives in St. Paul, MN with his faithful mutt — Sophie.

SOLENA VOGEL “the Glue”

Solena is rightfully considered “the glue” of the Beer Dabbler. She keeps us all sticking together. From marketing to meetings, contracts, updates and the front gate, she has her hands in it all. Solena brings many years of event planning experience to the table, most notably with the Cinco de Mayo planning committee on St. Paul’s West Side. Her favorite beer is the Belgian Style Golden Ale, number 4 from of the Summit Brewing Company’s “Unchained Series”. When she isn’t dabbling she’s traveling, practicing yoga, catching local live music, camping, going out for sushi and playing with her beer-loving pals.

BRIAN KAUFENBERG “the Newbie”

Brian is the newest member to the Beer Dabbler. After three seasons with the St. Paul Saints, he is bringing his love of craft beer and experience in event management, promotion, corporate partnerships, editing, and staff management to the Beer Dabbler’s table. His passion for beer and brewing was solidified while studying at the UW-Madison, where he graduated with, what else, an English Major. Besides beer, Brian’s interests range from writing, reading, camping, fishing, music, film and all things UW Badgers. You can find him in St. Paul riding his bike to his favorite pubs or skating at the parks in the winter. Flag him down—pints will be shared.
