“Beer and baseball are the perfect combination at the ballpark,” said Scott Bush, assistant general manager, St. Paul Saints. “Our goal is to enhance the Saints experience and this partnership with the Beer Dabbler will allow our fans to choose from a wide variety of tasty craft beers. A ‘call to the Bullpen’ will definitely have a different meaning this year.”
“We are excited to bring fans even more tasty reasons to come to a ballgame this year,” said Joseph Alton, project director at the Beer Dabbler. “What pairs better than beer and baseball? The Saint Paul Saints are an outdoor summer institution in Minnesota and now you’ll be hard pressed to find a better draught list at another sporting event this summer.”

CHEERS,
The Beer Dabbler Crew
Thanks again to everyone that entered the 4th Annual Winter Carnival Beer Dabbler Home Brew contest.
Huge thanks go to Northern Brewer, the Nomad World Pub, Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room, and the Republic for their sponsorship. I also would like to thank all the volunteers that helped with judging and stewarding on Saturday—we can’t have fantastic contests like this without all your help!
If you were not able to attend the award announcement on Saturday at the Nomad, your score-sheets (and hopefully medal/prizes) will be sent to you later this week. We had 116 entries, which were put into 12 categories.
There were many very nice beers entered and I hope you all will consider entering and helping out at future contests. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks again!

Tips for Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival
Many of you have been to The Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival before and for many of you this will be your first event with us. Hopefully, these notes will help you enjoy the event to the fullest. Here are a few ways to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all you Dabblers out there.
Dress for Success
One of the most important things you can do to optimize your enjoyment is to be prepared for the day. Please expect it to be COLD and expect the worst, weather-wise. We’ve had snow, rain, freezing temps, and wind. This means: Wear your snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, hand warmers, extra socks, long johns, and LAYERS. If you are choosing between looking extra cute and being comfortable, please choose comfortable. Many folks also come in costume. We will have some fire pits and space heaters, but they are limited, so your comfort level is up to you.
Embrace the bodies
There will be lots of people. Period. This event is a large community event celebrating craft beer, Minnesota, and WINTER. We anticipate almost 75% of our beer vendors will be bringing some very special offerings. Firkins, casks, aged, and some collaborations. Note that when special offerings are up for grabs you aren’t the only one trying to get a taste. Expect lines. Most good things in life are worth waiting for. If you aren’t a “line-person”, you might want to move on to another brewery and check back later in the day for a crack at your favorite brews.
Pre-wristbanding
We’ve learned over the years that it takes longer to do (almost all) things in the Winter months. Wristbanding gets slower when you’re digging through layers of clothes to find a bare wrist. Please have your ID (and your wrist) ready when it’s your turn to be checked-in. We have taken precautions to keep this process smooth and moving fast. You can get carded and pre-wristbanded at the following locations the day of from 1pm to 3pm to avoid having to spend too much time in line at the event:
- Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar
- Barrio
- Bulldog Lowertown
- Gopher Bar
- Señor Wongs
- Hat Trick Lounge
- Station 4
Please support these businesses when you stop. They are supporting us all by providing this service.
Transportation
First things first: you are coming to a beer festival – if you drink, it’s just plain smart to not drive. We have partnered with Metro Transit and St. Paul Smart Trips so that your festival ticket includes a free bus ride to and from the event. Download your pass here and look up the bus schedule at Metro Transit’s website.
We also are in our 4th year of a partnership with You Drink We Drive. They provide a service that gets you and your car home safely while you sit back and leave the driving to them. They appreciate reservations, so you might want to pre-book your ride. http://www.youdrinkwedrive.org/
Parking
Recommended parking lots near the event: UNION DEPOT (Note: Union Depot Lot A is CLOSED to event parking on Saturday, January 26).

Bike Parking
DERO Bike Racks is providing free bike parking at the event. Bike racks will be located on the east side of Broadway Street, just north of Kellogg Blvd.
Shuttles
Minneapolis: Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room is offering lunch and a round trip shuttle to the Beer Dabbler for $15/person. Pre-registration is required
St. Paul: O’Gara’s, Tiffany Sports Lounge and Shamrock’s will have FREE shuttles traveling to and from The Beer Dabbler beginning at 2pm. They will also be offering 1/2 off Red Bull Crashed Ice Zone tickets and shuttles will stop at Red Bull Crashed Ice in the evening. Contact each location with questions.
Tickets
The name on your ticket is 100% transferable. Tickets can only be scanned once, but the name on the ticket doesn’t matter. If you can’t make it — it’s not a big deal for someone else to use your ticket. However, be aware of any purchases make on Craigslist or by other ticket brokers. If you don’t know the person, we wouldn’t recommend you trust that the ticket will be valid. Try – when possible – to purchase tickets directly from The Beer Dabbler.
For assistance with any issues concerning tickets you have purchased, please call ExtremeTix, Inc at 888-695-0888 (In Canada: 877-251-2364) OR email them at tickets@clicknprint.com Help Desk Hours: 8 AM – 9 PM Central Time, 7 days a week
